Ultimately our goal in journeying to Karamoja is to see how we can bless the people there and be blessed by them. Not a bad deal. These words by Jesus come to mind that hit me between the eyes:
When the son of man comes in his glory...he will put the sheep on his right and goats on his left. The the King will say to those on his right, "Come...take your inheritance...because:
I was hungry and you gave me something to eat
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink;
I was a stranger and you invited me in;
I needed clothes and you clothed me;
I was sick and you looked after me;
I was in prison and you came to visit me;"
...whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.

THIS BLOG is to document my walk to raise awareness and support for Shalom Reconciliation Ministry in Karamoja, Uganda.
In Karamoja there are many children who are left to fend for themselves or neglected due to poverty in the region. SRM is helping to send children to school, give life skills, teach how to see their world and families with love, and showing God's love to them in the process.
Help me raise enough money to pay for 20 children to attend school next year and help pay for my visit to see how we can further support the ministry.

I am from Colorado, USA, currently living in Denver and attending an Environmental Engineering course as well as working at a bakery. I worked in Northern Uganda from 2005-2007 with Medair, an Emergency Relief Organization based in Switzerland. I developed a place in my heart for Karamoja while living among the people and seeing the rough life. I really like meeting people that care about birthing God's Kingdom in this world somehow!
